Job Summary

Sustainability is a growing field that uses a holistic lens to investigate and problem solve the environmental, social, and economic problems our world faces. The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Office of Sustainability & Campus Enrichment in creating a culture of sustainability at Texas A&M University through graphic design. The job involves working both independently and with OS team members. The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for creating, designing, and delivering graphics and art both printed and digitally.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Plans, designs, and creates graphics for OS, Aggie Green Fund (AGF), and Aggie Sustainability Alliance (ASA), all OS Social Media Channels, OS marketing, and OS outreach efforts.
  2. Support OS interns in the development of graphics content.
  3. Adhere to Texas A&M, OS, AGF, and ASA branding and style guides.
  4. Successfully implement design feedback regarding process and graphic decisions.
  5. Translate strategic direction into high quality design within an established brand identity.
  6. Ability to communicate your design process and decisions to supervisors.
  7. Gain experience working in a diverse team-based office setting that coordinates with all divisions and departments of campus.
  8. Maintain an orderly archive of projects.
  9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Working toward a Texas A&M University (College Station) degree.

Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:

  1. Experience with graphics software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, or Canva.
  2. Strong artistic, creative, and communication skills.
  3. Strong understanding of digital graphics content creation.
  4. Attention to detail and basic knowledge of general office use of computers and software applications.
  5. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Punctuality and dependability.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience in creating graphics and digital content for social media, email campaigns, and e-newsletters.
  2. Video and/or photography experience.
  3. Experience in and knowledge various Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.).
  4. Work Study Certificate.
